5 Handy Ways of Giving and Sharing

Instant Worldwide Sending and Receiving of Money
You may wish to send money to family or friends; or to buy products or services; or to sell your products or services on the internet. For all of this I find having a PAYPAL account very handy. You register your credit card or bank account at the PAYPAL website. Then you can receive money into that account, and you can use it to send money or buy stuff. It is a little fiddly to set up initially but once you take your time and read the screens carefully and follow step by step it works. Visit www.paypal.com. |

Sharing Videos with Friends or Customers Worldwide
Do you want to share videos of family occasions; share your knowledge on how to do things or demonstrate how your products work? On www.youtube.com once you set up a user account it is very, easy to simply upload your video of (ie) the family christening. Now your friends and family can keep up with what’s happening in your family whenever they want. Or if you are a business you could put up a product video, either demonstrating how your product works or showing how to use your product. You could then put a link to that video from you website, or email customers the link if they buy a product. To see what I mean just search for ‘how to upload a video to youtube’ and it will show you how! Remember most mobile phones can now also make short videos. |

Giving to or Fundraising for Charities or Schools
Perhaps you want to help your school or favourite charity fundraise. Or you want to climb a mountain and fundraise yourself for a registered charity, but you do not want the hassle of collecting the funds. Recently I visited www.mycharity.ie and was impressed. This site enables anyone to donate to their favourite charity. It also allows you to set up a fundraising page, so your circle can sponsor your efforts.

Sending Condolences
Sadly family, friends, colleagues pass away. How useful to be able to quickly find out details of the funeral arrangements. It can bring solace to at least send your condolences even if you are abroad when the sad event occurs. The Irish website www.rip.ie is worth remembering. |

Making a Snapshot of Your Screen
When things go wrong on your computer it is very handy
to make a snapshot of the contents of your computer screen. Should
an error message come up on your screen and you want to find out
what it is all about then press the button called ‘PrtSc’ or ‘PrtScrn’ depending
on your keyboard, usually located in the top row. Open Word or Notepad
to create a new document, then Press the Ctrl Key and the V key at
the same time. A picture of your computer screen should appear on
this new document. Now save this document as ‘(eg) Screen Snapshot
with Nokia Error Message’ (Give it a name that means something to
you so you can find it again). Now you can simply either print out
the document or email the message to someone who can help. |

Undoing a Mistake
This month I used the Undo feature a lot. Sometimes you are typing away and make a mistake, or you delete something you did not intend, or paste something in the wrong place. When that happens simply press the CTRL key and the Z key together and what you have just done is undone. |
