Sort your photos fast with Vista
Open on screen the folder containing your photos. Across the top you will see the labels Name, Date Taken, Folder, Tags, Size. Left click the drop down arrow beside these names and you select which way you want them sorted. I usually choose Date Taken. Then to give the all the photos a meaningful name quickly select all by pressing the Ctrl key and the A key at the same time. Right click the first picture and choose ‘rename’ from the dropdown menu. Type the name you want, (ie) Summer Holiday in Kerry and Windows will name every picture Summer Holiday in Kerry (1) Summer Holiday in Kerry (2). |

Speedily find what you were recently working on
This is very useful to find a document or spreadsheet you were working on recently. Left click the OFFICE symbol on the top lefthand side of your screen. A list of recently used documents will appear. Just click on the one you want to open. It is really important to give all our documents descriptive names. |

Creating your own Filofax inserts
My Filofax Mini is very useful for shopping lists, birthday lists, credit cards, driver license, etc. A place to jot down a number, name of book to read, a film to watch, an idea for the business. Rather than using expensive Filofax inserts I bought a special hole punch to create my own inserts. One source for these hole punches is justfax.co.uk

Never forget a follow up call
When sending a proposal by email put the name of the company you are sending it to in the subject line. Now make sure you do follow up on the proposal on a future date. With MS Outlook this is easy. You simply fish the email out of your sent box and put it into your Outlook calendar. Left click on the email in the sent box, keep the mouse button down and drag the email down to your calendar and change the date to the day you want to be reminded to follow up. You will be reminded to call on that day. If they are still not ready to discuss your proposal then simply drag to a new calendar date. |

Organise your time with Windows Calendar
If you do not have Microsoft Outlook, then checkout the Calendar that comes as part of Windows Vista. This Windows Calendar is designed to make it easy for you to share your Calendar with others over the internet. To find it, simply left click the start button on bottom left hand corner of your screen. Type in ‘Calendar’ and when it comes up, right click the icon, from the dropdown window, select 'Send to', from that drop down menu select 'Send to desktop' . The icon (small picture) of your Calendar will appear as a shortcut. Simply double click the icon to open your Calendar. |
