Retrieve Deleted Items

Quickly Retrieve Deleted Items From Recycling Bin If you delete a document, photo, or spreadsheet by mistake, it can be retrieved. Simply double click on your 'Recycle Bin' to see what is in it. This usually is visible on your desktop as a small rubbish bin.

Once you find the item you are looking for, simply right click on it, and choose the option ‘Restore’. This will pop the item back to the place you deleted it from. Your screen wastepaper basket does not empty itself until you right click on it and choose 'Empty Recycle Bin'.

Limit Access to Nasty Websites

Limit Access to Nasty WebsitesYou can limit what website sites can be visited on your computer. With the Internet Browser open, Left Click the Arrow to the Right of the word ‘Tools’ at the top of the screen. At the bottom of this drop down list, select ‘ Internet Options’, when that opens, click on the ‘Content Tab’. At the top you will see the words, ‘Content Advisor’, to use this click on 'Enable'.

There is a range of options you can choose, and you can move the ‘Slider’ to the level of censoring you want done on websites coming your way. You can even limit what websites can be accessed. The ‘Options’ you can choose in 'Internet Options' is well worth getting to know, particularly if children will have access to your computer.

Reunite Speedily with Lost Pets

Reunite Speedily with Lost Pets Pets can't talk! If your adored pet got lost, wouldn't you like your pet to be returned to you quickly. Recently I found out that a pet can be painlessly chipped at most vets. Then you simply register the chip with www.fido.ie. Found animals are now scanned and your pet's details will be quickly found ensuring a speedy and happy reunion.

Prevent Losing Work Done

Attachments that come in with emails can be easily saved. This is important to do if you receive an attachment and you plan to work on that item. First you must save the attachment into your computer, with a name that will make it easy to find. When the email comes in with the attachment listed, simply right click on the attachment. The dropdown menu will show choices. You can select, ‘Open ‘if you want to first open and see what it is. However the safest way to deal with attachments is to select ‘Save As’. The window that appears will allow you to select where to store it to. Later you can work on that document as needed, and email back the worked on document to the sender by attaching it to the email you send.

Reduce SPAM Email

Set up two email addresses, one email address for friends and family, and one for public use. Untick email checkboxes on order forms and website signups. Use disposable email addresses for shopping and forums. For example www.trashmail.net enables you to set up temporary addresses.
